An Archetypal Dream of Travel
The multimedia project emerged from an archetypal dream of flying and travel, in which the Pirot kilim becomes a symbol of freedom, movement, and the connection between cultures.
Following the artist on journeys from Mexico and China, through Paris, Strasbourg, the French Riviera, Timișoara, and Munich, to Belgrade and the mountains of Serbia, the kilim appears
in the form of a photo-performance as a bridge between cultures, time, and space. In each setting, it creates a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, the local and the universal.
The Universal Language of Ornament
Through her research, paintings on canvas, photographs, video works, and jewelry, Milica Živadinović presents ornaments as a universal visual language that transcends geographical boundaries.
